Do all International Schools in India require CAT?
No – most reputed International Schools in India have their own Admission Test. Our CAT test is similar to that used by International Schools in India and
prepares your child for the real test.
Does my child have to take CAT in order to seek admission to an International School in India?
No – CAT is not mandatory for admission to any International school in India. CAT prepares your child for the real admission test by the International school.
Do all International Schools have admission test?
No – there is no such rule. Many reputed schools have their own admission test.
Does TESOL-India guarantee that my child will be accepted at specific International School in India?
No – we give no such guarantee. We will counsel your child and help you make a short
list of Indian schools that are best suited for your child.
What is the exact role of TESOL-India in the school admission process?
We help you avoid mistakes – we will help you make a short list of schools that suit
your child. With help from SPICE.ORG’s counseling staff, we will ensure that your
child’s application package is completed properly. We send that package to the
school and co-ordinate with the school until your child joins the school.
Can TESOL–India be the Local Guardian for my child in India?
Unlike Australia or Canada, the Indian law does not require International child
studying in India to have a Local Guardian. As a result, most International Schools
in India do not require any Local Guardian for your child. The Indian school itself
does all work of the local guardian – even pickup/drop to International airport.
You do not need a local guardian at all.
Why is the ESL Prep School Program necessary?
International schools in India have a 100% English environment. Most International
students have never lived in such an environment before. TESOL–India’s Prep School
program prepares your child for the first day at the school.
What is so important about the first day at school?
The impression your child creates on the first day at the school is going to last
with the child for the entire duration at the school. Other students’ opinion of your child is very important for the self–esteem of your child. It is important that your child enters a new school on a confident note.
Do I really need to visit the school before taking admission?
Most schools do not require this. However, we recommend that you see the
school with your own eyes before finalizing your child’s admission.
Do I need to go to India twice – once to see the school and another time for joining the school?
No – we recommend that you join us for our school visit program. During the visit you
can finalize the school. Your child can stay back in India attending TESOL–India’s ESL
Prep School Program – until the school start date.
Where is TESOL–India’s Prep School program conducted?
In fact, most of TESOL–India’s Training Centers for Children are located within the
leading International schools of India. Our Prep School programs are conducted within
the premises of leading International schools in India.

What are the total program fees?
Our service fee is only US$200. You do not need to pay any other service charges.
We can not speak English but we want to send our child to India. Do we need a local agent who speaks English?
No – you do not need any agent – we speak your language. At TESOL–India we have many
Adult students of various nationalities. We have many of these students work in our
back-office for such translation work.
We have no English skills. We can not even complete a form. Is it OK?
Yes – it is OK. You do not need to worry about it. Our staff speaks your language.
We will counsel you in your language.
How many International schools are in India? What are their fees?
There are over 100 new and modern International schools in India. These are located
all over India. The annual fees start at US$4,000/year. Some very expensive schools
cost as much as US$20,000.year.
Is any region of India the safest? Or considered as the best?
India is a large country with 30 states. Barring only handful states, most other
states are very safe. There are International students in all parts of India.
Which region of India has the best weather?
India is a tropical country. Summer months of April/May are hot and winter months
of Dec/Feb are mild. The monsoon rains are in June/Aug. In general, the northern
region and central region have hotter summers and colder winters. Humidity is higher
along the coastline. It is hard to say which region has the best weather.
How about the Hills Stations of India?
There are over 50 places known as “Hill Stations” that are at altitude of over 4000
feet. These “Hill Stations” are located in all regions of India. The hill stations
enjoy cooler weather all year round. There are many International schools located
in such hill stations.
